Training

Firefighters
After joining a department, the state mandates that every firefighter must complete 170 hours of class within 2 years, where they are taught the basics of firefighting.

Weekly Training
In addition, every Monday night we provide regular fire and rescue/medical training, conduct tours and perform station and truck maintenance.

Fremont First Responders
Fremont First Responders are medically trained from a First Responder, Basic Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) level through Paramedic status. While most of our calls are medically related, we also respond to car accidents.

Monthly & Annual Training
To maintain our skills, we train at the Fire Department every month and engage in continuing education through Gerber Hospital. Every year we have new personnel taking classes and receiving their medical licenses, which supplies the Fremont First Responders with a broad base of knowledge and new innovative ideas.
