ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS FOR PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT
The Fremont Department of Public Works is accepting applications for a full-time public works position. A CDL License is required within 6 months of hire date, and you must live within 15 miles of the city limits. Starting wage will be $22.57. A water and sewer operations licenses are a plus. Applications and a job description are available on the City’s website (www.fremontmi.gov) under “Community/Current Job Openings” and at the Fremont Municipal Offices, 101 E Main Street, Fremont, MI. Applications will be accepted until 5 PM, June 1, 2022. Employment is subject to a physical and drug screening.

"Call for Artists"
The Fremont Downtown Development Authority's Public Art Committee continually works to enrich the lives of the City’s residents and visitors through art. Over the last 16 years, the town has seen 15 new public art pieces emerge, adding to that quality of life that we all enjoy here in Newaygo County. The Committee's next public art project will be located in the south central greenspace area of Fremont's Veterans Memorial Park. A "Call for Artists" has been issued for submission of proposals that are community/family friendly, touchable, and appreciated by multi-generations of community members.
Guidelines for the "Call for Artists" are available to all interested by clicking this link. The proposal guidelines also may be requested to be mailed by phoning the City of Fremont at 231.924.2101. Deadlines for proposal submissions is Monday, August 1, 2022 by 5:00 p.m. An artist may submit more than one design to be considered by the Downtown Development Authority Public Art Committee.

The City Council held a Public Forum during the regular scheduled February 7th Council meeting at 7:00 PM. During the Public Forum a presentation was given regarding the proposed residential development of the former Gerber site property at the corner of Weaver Avenue and 44th Street.
