Community Development & Planning/Zoning Officer

 

The City of Fremont, MI (4,081) (Newaygo County) is seeking qualified candidates to fill the full-time position of Community Development & Planning/Zoning Officer.  The position reports to the City Manager.  Requires a bachelor’s degree in planning, public administration, urban affairs or related field.  Minimum of two years progressively responsible municipal experience in areas such as planning, community development, site plan review and zoning administration or an equivalent combination of formal education and experience.  Valid MI driver’s license & good driving record required.

 

Employee will serve as technical advisor to the City Manager and various City boards & commissions re: community & neighborhood development programs, policies and projects.  Responsible for guiding activities and providing administrative support to Fremont Community Joint Planning Commission, Joint ZBA and during the 5-yr update to the Fremont Area Joint Comprehensive Development & Growth Management Plan, which was a collaborative project of the City and two adjoining townships.

 

Compensation: $45,000-59,000  DOQ + Excellent benefits.

Campground Manager (part-time seasonal position)

 

The City of Fremont, MI (4,081) (Newaygo County) is seeking experienced candidates to fill the position of Campground Manager.  It is a part-time/seasonal position that will report to the City Manager.  A free camp site (not camper) is provided and essential duties include, but are not limited to: assisting the City with seasonal and transitional lots, winter storage and boat dock reservations, occasional light maintenance of the lots, daily cleaning of restrooms and showers, enforcement of park rules, as well as maintaining a safe and peaceful camping experience. 

Fremont Lake Park Campground is located in Fremont, MI - a small city located 45 minutes north of Grand Rapids and 30 minutes northeast of Muskegon.  The campground currently consists of 95 fully served lots, 10 rustic tent sites and borders the north shore of Fremont Lake.
