MINUTES – REGULAR MEETING

 

FREMONT CITY COUNCIL

 

Monday, April 17, 2006 – 7:00 PM

 

Mayor James Rynberg called the meeting to order at 7:00 PM.  Councilmember James Breinling gave the invocation and led the Pledge of Allegiance to the American Flag.

Present at Roll Call: Mayor James Rynberg and Councilmembers James Breinling, Larry Breuker, Dick Conley and Jane Drake

Staff Present: City Manager Chris Yonker, City Clerk/Finance Director Todd Blake

Public Present: Ashley Hunt, Laurie Breuker, Darl Purdy, Cheryl Price, Ray Arnett and Dusty Bitson

Approval of Meeting Agenda

Motion by Councilmember Conley, seconded by Councilmember Breinling to approve the meeting agenda; motion approved.

Proclamation: Honoring Lion’s “White Cane Week”

Mayor Rynberg proclaimed April 28 thru May 6, 2006 as “Lions White Cane Week” in the City of Fremont.  Following, Mr. Darl Purdy reviewed the State’s white cane law and thanked Council for its support.

Resolution R-06-08: Recognizing the 50th Anniversary of Fremont Redeemer Lutheran Church

Motion by Councilmember Drake, seconded by Councilmember Breinling to adopt Resolution R-06-08 recognizing Fremont Redeemer Lutheran Church’s 50 years of service; motion approved.

Consent Action Items

Motion by Councilmember Drake, seconded by Councilmember Conley and carried to approve the following consent action items:

Annual Report of Fremont Area District Library

Library Director Ray Arnett submitted the 2005 Annual Report and gave a brief summary.

 

Accounts Payable Report dated April 12, 2006 totaling $35,663.93

Motion by Councilmember Breinling, seconded by Councilmember Breuker to approve the accounts payable check register report dated April 12, 2006 totaling $35,663.93; motion approved.

Reports & Discussion

Councilmember Jane Drake left the meeting at 7:32 PM.

City Manager Yonker submitted the Economic Feasibility Study of a Local History Museum, prepared by Germann & Associates.  The study was being forwarded to the Museum Committee for its review at a meeting in early May.

Adjournment

Motion by Councilmember Breinling, seconded by Councilmember Conley to adjourn the meeting at 8:10 PM; motion approved.
