I have just completed my first year assessing your fair city. I feel much more comfortable and organized. Everyone at city hall has been very helpful and kind and I have thoroughly enjoyed my experience so far. I have 14 years experience in assessing and equalization functions. My office hours are usually 8 AM until 1 PM on Wednesdays and Thursdays. I will be more than happy to speak with any taxpayer that has questions and/or concerns regarding any aspect of the assessment task.
The Fremont City council members employed me not only to perform assessment administration functions but also to re-assess the entire city. That will include all properties; commercial, industrial and residential. Obviously there is no way that I can visit all 1876 real property parcels in one year so, I will be breaking it down into classes of property. My plan for the 2005 year is to reappraise the 224 commercial properties and address some issues that came to light during March Board of Review this year in the residential class.
The task of a re-appraisal includes an on site inspection of each property, updating photographs, reviewing legal descriptions and auditing each appraisal making sure that every improvement to the property has been addressed. Prior to the on site inspection you will receive a notification letter in the mail of my intention of visiting your property.
